Classrooms are diverse, but the teachers are not diverse

  1. Its not necessarily a good thing when teachers of the same background educate a group of diverse students. Its hard to teach students from a multicultural viewpoints in order to integrate the classroom. It will be a struggle for a white teacher to prepare her students on diversity if she is only educated on the background of her culture. The only students receiving an education is the white students who can easily adapt to their white teacher. Students may feel isolated and misunderstood because there’s no one of the same background they can relate to.

  2. I agree and think that it is nearly impossible to have a narrow array of teachers teaching a wide array of students with the idea that we are all the same when we are so diverse.
